Here are a few interesting pics showing how the Google brand name is picking up steam in China. I’m not sure if this is what google had hoped for… But hey, better than no publicity right?
And just to show that this type of brand-borrowing is not just taking advantage of big corporations outside of China, here’s a little shop borrowing from domestic China search giant Baidu.com:
The Chinese names for both Baidu and Google (百度 and 谷歌 respectively) are used pretty liberally as well.
See if you can spot the Baidu and Google characters/brands being borrowed in the following Chinese businesses:
