Watch Transformers Online on a Chinese Video Website

Wow. Even before it’s official Chinese release (July 11), it seems someone has uploaded a bootleg copy of Transformers to Chinese video website youku.

So, like the good internet policeman that I am, I hereby report this outrageous criminal act by re-posting it here:

Of course it’s terrible quality. Seems to be a camcorder job. But I’m sure all that will change after July 11th. This is definitely one that I plan to see in the cinema.

Did I ever mention that me and my brother once made a fully functioning (i.e. transformable) Optimus Prime Costume? Jeff, you still have any of those photos? That was way cool.

I’ll see if I can’t get my brother to dig them up.
Basic principle of it all was quite simple. arms get tucked into the cab.
cab rotates around 180 degrees so that the front is pointed to the back.
then you sit down in a sort of “L” shape, so that the legs/wheels stick out.

Styrofoam head on top (with flashing green diode eyes) flips to the back.

The cool part was that the truck windows were actually clear blue plastic.
You could see the person inside. We had my brother wear a hard hat (to match the dude in the cartoon) - but it also served a dual purpose, as the hard hat had a swivel on top, to facilitate the “rotatability” of the cab.

Definetly a good movie to watch, i can’t wait until they have it available for Blue-ray
