Well, for a little while now - as some of you know - I’ve been tacking streaming movies and tv shows on to the end of all my posts. These shows are all shown in full on some Chinese video websites, despite the fact that similar sites like youtube have run into serious legal problems due to copyright issues.

Now for those of you who aren’t regular readers of this site, here is a summary of all the media I’ve linked to over the past few months. If you’re reading in China, and you’re sick of watching Chinese tv - well, I suggest you bookmark this page cause it might come in handy.

You may be asking yourself, How is it possible that these Chinese sites can get away with this?

Chinese youtube clones have enjoyed relative immunity to copyright law, partially due to the language barrier that prevents Hollywood from searching the Chinese internet, and partially because it’s way easier to pick on defenseless college kids. That’s just retarded.

In any case, I’ll be reporting the location of more media at the end of every post in the future, and I’m doing so for two reasons:

  1. Those of us who are here in China could really use some decent TV. DVDs on the street are becoming harder to come by.
  2. I’d like to do a small part in helping publicize the fact that Hollywood, the RIAA, and Danny Glover are going after the little guys (like a college kid who downloads a movie from Bit Torrent) when big sites like these are not even given a second look.

If you feel the same way, feel free to copy and paste all the links into your own blog posts (in an effort to report the copyright violation of course), and write your own thoughts about this issue. If legal action isn’t taken against stuff like this, why should it be taken against kids who download?
