Most Chinese people will be familiar with Li Yang and his Crazy English methods (?????). My suspicions that he was on some kinda drugs was confirmed during a trip to the bookstore today, when I came across this particular book:
Check out these videos, and you can get an idea of just how crazy this dude is. His program’s catch phrase is “crazily speak English,” which kinda does sound like grammar on crack somehow.
Beijing officials deny allegations of trademark violations thusly:
When asked about the resemblance to Mickey, a spokesperson replied, “They have square holes in their ears. They are not copies.” The spokesperson suggested the statues are unique because they incorporate the themes of old Chinese coins (the square holes), the year of the rat, the Olympics and the financial district into the design. However, children passing by the statues were seen pointing and saying, “Look! It’s Mickey!”Source:JapanProbe
A friend of mine told me this joke a while back. And it’s pretty funny no matter what the language. Here it is in Chinese first:
So for anyone who doesn’t speak Chinese, the joke goes something like this:
A boy is on his way home from school, and he looks in the window of a house.
He sees a woman lying on her bed, rubbing her breasts and moaning “I want a man! I want a man!”
The boy is a little confused by what he’s seen, but goes on his way and heads back home.
The next day he’s passing by the house again, and he can’t help but look in the window again. Much to his surprise, he sees the woman is on the bed with a man.
The boy is amazed, and immediately runs home. He jumps on his bed, starts rubbing his own chest, saying over and over: “I want a bike! I want a bike!”
Funny…

Here’s another Kevin Rudd clip for you guys. Looks like someone whipped up a Kevin Rudd Propaganda video — or at least, what might pass for one if you ignored the audio track:

I noticed that in Beijing they're celebrating by having a Guinness price war, with several bars cutting the 60 Yuan plus drink to 30 Yuan. That's about wholesale price when accounting for a little wastage. What's happening in Dalian? […]
