Donate to Quake Relief, Win this Ad Space

Given the amount of people who email me looking for link exchanges, it seems as though at least a few people consider a link from pandapassport to be a commodity.

So, I thought I’d auction off a 300×300 block (on the right in my sidebar), and with the winner being the person/organization who gives the most to the Jet Li One Foundation (English version), which then goes to the China Red Cross. I’ll run the ad for at least 6 months, or as long as this blog remains China-focused.

To the victor goes a ton of good karma. And a 300×300 ad block.

Once you’ve made your donation via Paypal, forward me your email confirmation, or take a screenshot of your receipt of donation and send it along to me at this email address, subject line DONATE FOR AD SPACE. Black out any info that you consider personal if you like. See my sample. (Note: Yes, I know these receipts can be easily faked, but no one thinks a link from my blog is that important, do they?)

Start the bidding as low as you like. Even a buck. I’ll update the high bidder every day from now until Sunday May 18th.

I know adspace on this site is not a huge commodity by any stretch. It has a pagerank of 4, gets about 12 000 hits per month, and is steadily improving traffic-wise. So all you guys who email me for puny link exchanges, time to put your money where your mouth is.

For a good cause, right?

If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, head over to Lost Laowai for other ways to give.

Update: Turns out this didn’t tickle anyone’s fancy. :( What I’ll do is use the space to promote sites that are doing good work towards quake relief. In the meantime, check this out.

China Earthquake Relief Banner

Ryan has just whipped up a nice banner which you can add to your blog of website to support earthquake relief.

I’ve just stuck it on my site, and I encourage you to do the same.

Communist Cat

I really get a kick out of LOL Cats. They’re way funny.

I even installed the Lol Cats widget on my Macbook dashboard. Good fun. For anyone who’s not familiar with these crazy cat pictures, head over to IcanhasCheezburger.com and check out the captioned photos.

This one of Communist Cat was particularly cute:

A Chinese Student makes a Stop-action Movie

This is a pretty cute little composition.

He’s no Georges Méliès or Michel Gondry, but the animation that this kid has managed to put together is pretty damn cool.

Looking forward to seeing more from him.

Olympic Haircut

Out of all the supposed human rights abuses in China, I think this is the worst so far.

Poor little fella.

Ironman available Online, 1 Day after Release in Theatres

One day after it’s Friday May 2nd release here in China, Ironman has been spotted online on youku.com

Update: It is, however, dubbed in Chinese. Thanks for pointing that out Dan. I didn’t watch it, as I’m hoping to see it in theatres.

It was uploaded at around 1pm, on Saturday May 3.

That was way fast!

Here’s a screenshot:
